Is Shawty Lo really dead?

Speed, cars, accidents. Shawty Lo, a famous musician and rapper died in a car crash.

The rapper — whose real name was Carlos Walker — was killed in a car wreck Wednesday morning, 21 September. Shawty Lo is dead. His manager confirmed on Twitter. The accident was initially reported as a hit-and-run but was later revealed only to involve one vehicle.

An accident

His white Audie reportedly went over the guardrail, hit two trees, and caught fire. He died after being ejected, and his two passengers were taken to the hospital. There is no update on their conditions.

Atlanta rapper Shawty Lo was killed in a car crash early Wednesday morning. Atlanta DJ Ryan Cameron announced the news on Twitter after getting confirmation from the rapper’s manager. Later, an official statement was released on Shawty Lo’s Twitter account.

According to WSB-TV, the rapper was driving around 2:20 a.m. and crashed. Shawty Lo was 40. After the accident was ejected from the car and died at the scene. Two women in the car were taken to a hospital for life-threatening injuries.

Shawty Lo was known for his work in the mid-2000s with Atlanta rap crew D4L, as well as his 2008 solo album, Units in the City, featuring the hit single “Dey Know.”

Rapper Shawty Lo is widely known for his song "Dey Know" as an example of Shawty Lo exotic lyrics. He was also famous for an abandoned reality TV show about the mothers of his 11 children.

The Fulton County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed his death to CNN. The official cause of death is pending.

Born Carlos Walker, the Jonesboro, Georgia, native was a founding member of the group D4L, whose song "Laffy Taffy" peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard 100 chart in 2006.
