What Uche Jumbo has to say about the gender equality?

Should male virginity be checked the same as female? Is that what Uche Jombo says?

Gender equality has been a hot topic in Nigeria. Some people fight for it, others fight against it. Nonetheless, many Nigerian ladies got more rights and freedom over the last years. Here is what Uche Jombo has to say about it.

What is gender equality according to Uche Jombo

Recently Wuraola Otiti Zynab Obanor, the wife of Ooni of Lfe has started an important conversation online. She noted that both males and females should stop discussing the gender equality and the bill, just because it is impossible.

She believes families are getting ruined over this matter. Women stop living and behaving according to traditions and the old ways. Men become unhappy and the divorce rate rises up. Surely, all these things do happen all over the world and in Nigeria, too. But is that a good reason to bereave women of their rights?

Uche Jombo, famous Nigerian Hollywood actress does not agree. She joined the online discussion and said some very brave and radical on gender equality. Here is what she writes on her Instagram page:

“If a man’s virginity cannot be tested on the wedding night, mine shouldn’t be tested as well.”

 according to Uche Jombo

This is one of her many words, but it surely catches the eye. It does not sound very nice, but it sounds proper and honest. Many women in Nigeria undergo humiliating home virginity tests. They feel as if they are being sold and bought for a solo purpose of the men’s enjoyment of being the first.

Sex is  not the only thing she covers. She ads this:

“If I work for 3 hours and a man works for 3 hours, we both deserve to get paid the same.”

And this:

“I am not better, wiser, stronger, more intelligent, or more responsible than a man. Likewise, I am never less.”
