Yemi Osinbajo, who is the Vice President of Nigeria pointed out the main reasons for Nigeria economic recession. He also provided an assurance that the current government and its leader President Muhammadu Buhari are more than competent to cope with the economic recession in the country. Moreover, Yemi Osinbajo as a pastor of Refeemed Church also expressed his believes that God has a special plan for Nigeria, and Muhammadu Buhari was elected to rule the country for a reason. According to the Vice President, the country lost over 60% of its revenue due to a destruction of pipelines in Niger Delta. As it`s known, Niger Delta Avengers took the responsibility for vandalisation of oil and gas infrastructure in the country. Therefore, Nigeria as the main exporter of oil and gas in Africa lost income, which has led to the inflation and hike of prices. Nevertheless, Yemi Osinbajo believes that Nigeria can resolve this problem in the nearest future.
The second reason for the economic recession is a high level of corruption in Nigeria. The corruption is the main rival which is not rare. For the last decades, the standard of corruption only grew up. Moreover, experts suggest that today Nigeria experiences the highest level of corruption in the history of the country. It means that the whole system is corrupted from up to down. Therefore, some critics suggest that the words of the Vice President: “if we can control corruption and we are out of recession” actually refer to not illuminating corruption at all but be at the head of corruption.
Yemi Osinbajo still has a faith into the government of Muhammadu Buhari, despite critic statements from the opposition.
