The name of this notable woman was Bertha Benz. She was a wife of the first German car manufacturer and his business partner as well. Her passion for driving, so unwomanly, was able to grab the attention of people and get them fascinated with the new notions – automobiles.

She had a very long and fulfilling life dying at the age of 95 years old. Her first driving experience took place in 1886 and she even did not notify her husband about it. She drove over 100 km distance to visit her mother, taking her sons with her. That drive has started the woman-driver era on our platen.
