Nowadays there is no woman that would one hundred percent were satisfied with their figure. Part of the body, which usually gets the most complaints, is the breast. Someone wants to increase it, somebody to reduce it. Many women just don't like the shape of the breast they have and would be happy to change it. Today breast implants give such opportunity. But are breast implants safe?
Silicone implants first appeared in the 1960-ies. However, attempts to correct imperfect forms of nature had occurred before. Women try to enlarge breasts using the fatty tissue taken from the thigh, with the help of paraffin, evalena, polistine, the eteron and other materials. However, these experiments weren't successful. The idea of using silicone breast prostheses was created by American plastic surgeons Frank, Gero and Thomas Cronin.
The first breast implants of modern sample appeared in the second half of the last century. Then the scientifics were invented silicone gel, which allowed creating implants that maximally resemble the real breast. Today the implant is a silicone membrane with liquid. Such implant beast allows creating the chest, almost indistinguishable from the natural.
The safety of the implants depends on their type
Almost all modern, high-quality implants have a similar silicone shell, but the filling can be slightly different. The most common implants consist of silicone or saline filler.
The silicone filler is a gel, the viscosity of the gel can be different. The thicker is a gel, the lower the probability that it will flow from the shell. This makes these implants more secure. Also, their form is more stable.
The advantages of silicone implants include their natural form. They are pleasant in touching and almost indistinguishable from natural breasts. Also, the silicone is fairly light material, so implants rarely move under the action of gravity.
This type of filler has their disadvantages. First is the high cost of silicone implant. Second – if the case of implant rupture is difficult to detect the flowing place.
The saline filler is the natural saline or an aqueous fluid of sodium chloride. The fluid is injected into the implant after it`s installed, during the operation.
Such implants have many advantages over silicone. First, they are much cheaper, and secondly, they are much safer than silicone. In the case of implants rupture, it will be easy to detect it, and the body will get only a harmless saline fluid.
Also, after the operation, there are tiny scars as implants entered empty and pumped later.
Saline implants also have their disadvantages. They can shrink and move. That is why women with very small breasts are not recommended to use it. As it will look unnatural.

Negative consequences of breast implant
Today goes a lot of rumors about the implantation of the breast. Nobody doubts that plastic surgery carries many risks.
Despite the fact that modern breast implants are high quality and there are many qualified and experienced surgeons, breast implants still have many disadvantages.
Complications during the surgery
Complications during surgery occur every tenth operation. This percentage is significant for surgery.
Every tenth woman has to repeatedly go under the knife and fix the drawbacks, and sometimes it leads to the amputation of the breast. Moreover, these operations can last for up to six months that will not add you beauty.
Problems with the implant
Often with incorrect axillary incision turns out asymmetry in the placement of implants breast. The implant then moves under the influence of the efforts of the muscles upward and toward the armpit.
Another trouble after surgery, in addition to the seams, of course, can be a loss of sensation on the nipple and the areola.
Their recovery can take up to six months or more. Sometimes, if the prosthesis is compressed by the branch of the intercostal nerve, the sensitivity may not recover at all.
Seromas and hematomas
This is a congestion of pus or blood between prosthesis and tissues of the body. They create discomfort and protrusion in the region of the surgical wound also can temporarily distort the shape of the breast.
Seromas are formed in response to injury of the cells after the operation and implementation of the foreign body. The blood plasma and lymph accumulate in the cells. There is a protrusion like a hernia in the areas of operations.
The hematoma is an accumulation of blood around the implant.
The risk of infection
There is the danger of infection during operations. If the infection forms around the prosthesis, no antibiotics will help. Then it should treat complications of infection in the hospital. Re-operation is possible not earlier than in six months; then doctors can put the new implant.
The infection can develop immediately after surgery, and for two months after surgery, especially the high chances have women with diabetes and chronic illnesses.
With the correct installation of the implant, prostheses cannot effect on breastfeeding. When implant was grazing the areola and nipple, it always prevents feeding. If you plan to breastfeed, please discuss this with the surgeon.
Injury and deformation of the implant
Usually, the rupture of implants is exposed when they are old, with the thin shell, with a defect in the manufacturing. Implants can also rupture due to compression and injury. When the liquid of the implant flows in the breast cells, women feel pain.
The chest becomes unpleasant to touch. Such situations require removal of the implant and fluid from the breast cells.
