HIV/AIDS is one of the deadliest viruses on our planet. It kills millions of people on our globe, and many of these people reside in Nigeria. What is HIV 2016 rate for Naija?
HIV stats for Nigeria 2016
Currently, scientists state that in Nigeria over 196 000 people live with HIV or AIDS. They do everything possible to keep it under control and lower transmission rate. They have attained certain results among kids and babies. The infection rate rapidly went down. However, Nigerians with HIV make over 10 percent of all the people on our plant, infected with this virus!
That is an incredible number and a sad one, too. Moreover, the death of AIDS rate grows among the young population. Those aged between 15 and 24 suffer much greater risks of being infected. Most likely it is due to high sexual activity and low awareness about the disease. Young people do not always deem necessary to use condoms. They can be quite careless in their sexual contacts, too.
What is to be done about this grave situation? Well, they have a plan, and it is called Vision 90/90/90. It means that over 90 percent of all persons infected with HIV in Nigeria should have access to testing. Plus, 90 percent of these people should get treatment for HIV.
Finally, by 2030 all these people should get their virus under control and suppress. That’s a big goal for Nigeria. Presently the program is being tested in two states: in Kaduna and Benue. Hopefully, it will produce positive results and taken to treat the entire nation!
