Who is the shortest reigning head of state in Nigeria’s history?

1 answers

Murtala Mohammed was the head of the state for the shortest period of time (among other rulers). He came to power during the military coup in 1975. In 1976 he was murdered during another coup. The assassination took place on the road, when he was driving home and had no guard around him. This head of state indeed tried to introduce some significant changes in politics and economics of Nigeria and brought to trial several military officials for their corrupt actions. His rule lasted only for 201 days.
