It’s hard to tell who was the first person, who flew to Nigeria, but he first Nigerian pilot was Capt. Robert Emmanuel Hayes. He obtained his license back in 1955. Back at those times it was not an easy thing to do, as all the flights were performed solely by British. This May the guy turned 80 years old. In 1953 he was enrolled into a British program. It trained Nigerian pilots for the army and he was the first one to obtain the certificate.
