When designing the ant farm you need to consider what type of ants will live there and do the ant farm according to their needs.

The size of ants

The rule is simple – take a growth of the womb of your view in mm, multiply by 1.5 and get the optimal camera height. The size of the tunnels shall be such that the uterus could develop. Usually it is enough to make it the same size as the leg span of the uterus.

Of course, you don't have to do ant farm on exactly this size. You can deviate from this rule, but do not overdo it. So, if the length of an ant 10 mm, and chamber height of 50 mm, the majority of the space will be wasted.

Features of

Some types need a special approach.

Harvester ants require long dry chamber for storage of seeds. Also do not forget that these kinds of good chew soft materials.

Listorezy – fundamentally don't live in the classical forecariah. They require a large cavity, in which they will be able to place the mycelium.

Desert species require a dry covered arena. If arena is over the cameras, you need to provide enough ventilation at the top, otherwise moisture will stagnate on the surface.

The weavers nest is lined with cardboard, so as the ant farm is better to make a system of large chambers that the ants will alter to your taste.
