Koffi Olomide is the prominent Congolese rumba singer. His lawyer declared that the star singer was finally released from Kinshasa jail. It happened on Saturday, July, 30, in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
According to Olomide`s lawyer Benoit Tayeye, prosecutors arranged bail to his client because there is no definite flight risk. Neither the prosecution nor the defense team gave particulars about the bail payment. He also added that the defense showed that the songster had a well-known residence. Koffi Olomide is a prominent music star and his prime interests are located in Congo. That is why, according to the legal representative, he will never try to escape.
Authorities also confirmed Olomide's discharge from the jail. However, they declared that the singer`s criminal case would never be dropped.
Not the first arrest
We want to remind you that it was not the first arrest for Koffi Olomide. Thus, in 2012, the notorious composer got a three-month suspended prison term for attacking his own producer.
In 2008, Koffi Olomide was accused of assaulting a video operator at his concert in Kinshasa. Although at that time the case was resolved without court.
