The former president of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan, induced all Muslim Nigerians to self-sacrifice and to pay much attention to the country in his Sallah message. Jonathan transferred the message Sallah on Monday to all Muslim believers around the world as they have Eid-El-Kabir 2016 celebration. He also appealed to Nigerians to imitate readiness of Prophet Ibrahim to offer his son for mankind. 'On Eid-El-Kabir, we observe readiness of the Prophet Ibrahim to offer his son. It should teach us that we have to offer everything for greatness of Nigeria. Without the victims, we will never see Nigeria of our dream and we will think ‘That about me’ instead of ‘That about Nigeria’. Let's acquire ideals of Prophet Ibrahim and we will place Nigeria in the beginning of all our plans. I welcome Muslim Ummah this Sallah. This day Muslims of the whole world put on festive clothes having made ablution and hurry to the mosque on the collective prayer. After that believers exchange congratulations, go on a visit or invite friends to the festive meals. The holiday is also celebrated by extremely important instruction of religion: this day Muslims pay the obligatory donation to the needing people, which is called zakat al-Аitr. Also there is a tradition to visit parents this day, seniors and patients, go on cemeteries, remembering deceased, to read fragments from the Holy Koran over graves and to ask God about simplification of their fate.
