God hates us all: is it true?

Admittedly in many passages of the Bible God talks about hating sin. He detests evil, transgressions, and sin, but does He hate us, too? That’s the question we should answer.

Does God hate people?

We read many stories on how God punished the sinful world from that of Noah’s ark, when He killed all individuals with the flood to that of Sodom and Gomorrah when He destroyed the ungodly cities with fire. All those punishments chill the blood in our veins and make us feel as if He hated the humankind.

At the same time, we tend to miss some of the stories of His amazing love for people. Here is what He says through one of His prophets:

“The LORD appeared to us in the past, saying: “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.” Jeremiah 31:3

Hating sins, God loves sinners. Jesus came to restore and save what was lost. He said that sick people need the doctor. He came to show love and utter mercy by giving away His life for the sinners. He did not come to save the righteous.

“You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly.  Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good man someone might dare to die.  But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5: 6-8

Jesus has made a way for us to be accepted by God despite our sins. He paid the ultimate price for all the transgressions of the world. Now God sees all people through the purifying blood of His Son – the Perfect Sacrifice.

God hates us all

Some people keep on living in sin and guilt; they think God hates us all when in reality He loves you more than anyone else! Those who receive His mercy and grace, also obtain the power to resist sin. But even when they sin, the blood of Jesus cleanses them of all the iniquities. It’s time for you to stop believing the lies of the devil. God does not hate you. Accept His love and live in freedom and blessing of the New Testament and the Gospel.
