Where is the Garden of Eden

Do you want to know everything about the Garden of Eden? Then this article will be very helpful.

Most people believe that the place where the first people lived was a heavenly paradise. But where is the Garden of Eden located in the world? In fact, Eden is the name of an ancient country or some other place where God, according to the Bible, planted the Garden where our first ancestors Adam and Eve lived peacefully before they broke his trust.

In other words, the Eden is represented as a holy abundant area somewhere in the world, blessed by God. It was a real place somewhere on Earth. It was a place that was even more beautiful than the entire universe. The Garden of Eden is a home that Adam and his wife had to take care of. They had to live there in happiness and peace.

According to the Genesis, you see that the Garden itself wasn’t cursed. It was the land. We also see that, although Adam and Eve had to leave their beautiful home, it never actually disappeared. But where is the Garden of Eden today? Let’s find out!

The Bible says that every tree in the Garden was truly beautiful and there was a tree of life in the middle and the tree of knowledge of good and bad things too.  Therefore, the Garden of Eden was perfect. It offered both beauty and sustenance, being home to every tree "that is pleasant to the sight and good for food, " and a source of freshwater from the river to drink.

As for man, God "put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it " (Genesis 2:15).

There was a river named Pishon around  Havilah -the land of gold. We can’t to say that the Bible gives a clear localization of Eden, but there’s not enough information to make it possible to determine the coordinates of this sacred area for sure.

The Bible says that Eden was situated on the east. But what did they mean by east? It will be naturally to assume that it means in the east of the modern Palestine, ancient Canaan - the place where the biblical texts were composed. Of course, the ancient Jews knew exactly where the east, west, north and south were. After all, the rising sun reminded the direction of the east every day.

So the attempts of some modern researchers to say that Eden is somewhere in Egypt or Ethiopia can’t be considered the proved facts. At the same time the Bible clearly states: Eden was located on the east (the east of Palestine, Canaan). But Egypt and Ethiopia are in the opposite direction - on the west and southwest.

 Pishon and Havilah

There’s a river called Pishon described in the Bible. It’s one of the rivers of Eden. The Bible says that it "flows around the whole land of Havilah, where the gold can be found."The scientists state that "Pison" in Hebrew means "a lot of water".

In Genesis 2: 8-9, we read: "The LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden, and there He put the man whom He had formed And out of the ground the LORD God made every tree grow that is pleasant to the sight and good for food. " Some believe the Garden was atop a mountain, or perhaps it was an outlet for freshwater springs, because we read, "a river went out of Eden to water the garden, and from there it parted and became four riverheads" (Genesis 2:10 ).

tree of knowledge

No man could reach the Garden of Eden and none of the disasters that occur on earth could get to it. The first house of mankind didn’t disappear; it’s just hidden from our eyes. However, some people suggest the Eden can be found in Africa.

Where is the Garden of Eden in Africa?

Great Rift Valley is a place in South Eastern Africa which is very similar to a lot of descriptions of the Garden of Eden. Can it be our lost home? We can’t be sure but let’s give the researches some time.

At the meantime, we should remember that Earth is now our home and we should take care of it as well as the first people in the universe. If we become careless we might become homeless forever.

It was a real place somewhere in the middle of the earth, perhaps even more beautiful than all the earth than the entire Eden, a place that Adam and his wife were supposed to settle in in the first place, taking care that they had to learn to care for the whole vast land.

Then, reading Genesis, you see that the HOUSE (Garden) of our ancestors not suffered the curse, cursed was the earth. We also see that although Adam and eve were forced to leave this lovely HOUSE, he continued to stay on the ground... but that's up to what point?

In the sixth Chapter of Genesis begins the story of how that the Lord, to save humanity from impending self-destruction, brought upon the earth the waters of the flood. The earth literally were covered with a heavy layer of water: "And the waters prevailed exceedingly upon the earth, so covered all the high mountains under the whole heavens; fifteen cubits upward did the waters, and covered the mountains"
