Looking back at the footballing year of 2014, I was moved to ask, who should be the top 3 Super Eagles who have shone distinctly both for club and country in the last 365 days? Here is my though.
3 John Obi Mikel
He may be one the several Nigerian players who have degenerated from being hailed and praise by the majority of football followers to one who have had to endure snare and blames however, the Chelsea midfielder have been always present in every encounter for the Eagles, at every moment and time in victory and defeat. For Chelsea Mikel has had to settle for a limited role in the Chelsea middle box owing to the high level competition for playing time. But the former Oslo of Norway star scored his first campions league goal ever few weeks ago.
2. AHMED MUSA
hardly would anyone remember the Super Eagles encounter with the Lionel Messi led Argentines at the Brazil World Cup without much appreciation to the brilliant abilities of Ahmed Musa. On that day he stood head to head with football greatest Messi, replying twice in goals. The 23 years old former highest goal scorer of our domestic leagues have also been instrumental for his club CSKA Moscow in their domestic triumph.
1 VINCENT ENYEAMA
Lille of France and Super Eagles first choice sht stopper is arguably amongst the most exciting goalie in today's football. He has bagged numerous Man the Match Award in very important matches, he won the best African Player award in the french Ligue 1 this year. Enyeama also came second runner up in the BBC African footballer of the year award and also in contention for the biggest prize in African football: the CAF African footballer of the year award. He is the best player in Nigeria no doubt.
